Its the first time I've kept them so not to sure how effective they are. They do seem to rumage around in the algea patches so I presume that they eating the stuff. On Friday I put a piece of Riccia in the tank and they seem to be very attracted to it. Whether they eating it or the algea who knows. The ottos seem to do a good job on the glass though. I've also just purchased 2 flying foxes to help keep the algae down.

I'm also waiting to find some cherry shrimps to see if they do a good job too.

They seem to be swiming around with each other no aggression yet.

Are they schooling fish?

No Way!!!! Flying foxes tolerate each other when they're youngsters but become VERY territorial as they grow! rfriday9 has it right!!

I've never kept them before. They in a 4 ft so they should be fine. If they start getting aggressive I'll move to to Chao's tank. Thank for info Jim.
