Hello there guys and girls.

I must sincerely apologise for my lack of appearance on here of late and I feel I must tell you why.

As most of you will know I had been struggling with my marine nano tank and the whole experience has been very sour for meCry.  I lost all the stock apart from  2 corals and the cleanup crew.  I had poured a lot of money, energy and time into the project only to be burned very badly by a succession of equipment failures breakages and bad luckDead.  I realised I needed to back off when one day I went to the tank to stare at the barren wasteland that was covered in algae and saw that the pumps had stopped working, another setback in a long list of problems with the tank.  I found myself standing there crying, this is not something that should be happening to you when its a hobby and something you love.  At that moment I turned my back on fishkeeping.  I did not even check on that tank for about 8 weeks, I just didn't care about it anymore, I think the last water change was about 10 weeks ago and I cannot muster the enthusiasm to sort it out, let alone find the money to start again so its just ticking over.

My other tanks fell by the wayside too, I barely glanced at them when I chucked food in at random intervals, I new I had to get back into it but just didn't care.  Even more bad luck rained down after a training trip to climb snowdon when I got home my Main FW tank was at 35°C due to stcuk heater and I lost all my mature rainbow fish, my last beautiful adult Congo tetra, a beautiful spotted plec and 2 clown loaches.  I felt hollow and I actually began to hate my tanks.  SO I just let them fester, a sporadic water change here and there every 8 weeks if I could be bothered.  My work tank is disgusting!!!!

So as you can appreciate coming online to see lots of lovely beautiful tanks was something I could not face.

I still do not know where fishkeeping and I stand with one another, but I have found the need to just have a look on the forum and I did redo my big FW tank last week.  So maybe I will recapture my lost mojo and find my long lost inner fish geek.

I must really thank all the moderators and admin staff for doing a sound job in keeping things going while I had an aquatic breakdown.

With luck you will all see me more often online

glad that your back mateBig smile u better not give up your marine tank, especially after i read all 112 pages of your tank thread on urLOL your too good, and too knowledgeable at this hobby too give it up completley. close all your tanks down and have a break, dont sell them thoughWink then start fresh when your mojo's back, maybe with a species you haven't kept or have always wanted to.

thanks guys it means a lot to read that

Snowclown I think I'll pass on the G. Funebris it might take a shine to my good lady and I would not like to see that battle

Nice suggestion there Jenny, it may well be but I want to keep other fish too so the puffer angle is a no go really, for now anyway.
