Finally got this up and running. Was a struggle, as I'm living at parents with my son at the moment and trying to persuade my mother that it would be a good idea to have a little tank in the room where I've got computer set up, was a long hard job
![]() So just a few photos of how things went First up, the tank in all its empty glory ![]() First mistake I made was I forgot to get some black backing for it so, got scissors cut up a black bin bag and that will do for now.Put the sand in. Was a mixture of Argos play sand and tropical marine sand. ![]() In went the rocks and shells and heater ![]() Forgot to take photos of installing the filter, so here's a shot of tank that has just been filled with water (hence the cloudyness) ![]() A not so cloudy tank ![]() Then wait for the tank to cycle.... and wait .... and wait ... and wait ... and wait. Then yippee time for the fish ![]() I chose to go for Neolamprologus multifasciatus, apparently one of the smallest cichlids in the world, they only grow to a max of 2in (normally slightly smaller). They originate from Lake Tanganyika. I got eight, and they are about 1.5 cm in length at the moment so not sure how many of either sex I've got, too small to tell. They've seemed to have settled in nicely. They have already chosen what shells they like and have started to aquascape the tank to their liking (there is sand flying all over the place )![]() ![]() ![]() |
